"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."---Teddy Roosevelt

The Far Right's favorite new Trojan Horse---this bogus issue of "pharmacists' rights"---is gaining ground. It's under the radar lately, but it's moving closer. And don't think you're immune from it just because you live in a blue state or a large city.

Washington is one of the most liberal states in the country. The governor and both senators are Democrats. Seattle is one of America's fittest and best-educated cities. And just a few days ago, a statewide anti-gay rights initiative didn't even get enough signatures to qualify for the ballot.

It couldn't happen here, right?

The Washington State Pharmacy Board has voted to allow pharmacists to refuse to fill prescriptions that violate their "morals." It could be birth control, the emergency "Morning After" pill, or ANYTHING ELSE that might offend the pharmacist's sense of decency.

AIDS medication? "Get your queer ass away from this counter!" Medication for cervical cancer? "You brought this on yourself, you cheap sl-t!"

These holier-than-thou pharmacists need to find another line of work if their religious "convictions" are more important than the job they're being paid for. A patient who needs a medical prescription filled should not be forced into a Kafka-esque maze of IF, MAYBE or "You FS&%$*&^%$#!!

The Access to Legal Pharmaceutical Act is being considered by the House and Senate!

Enough is enough!
